Rita Ora's boyfriend Calvin Harris confirmed their split after over a year of dating as rumors are swirling around that the "Fifty Shades of Grey" cast's liaison with Justin Bieber was behind the breakup.
In his Twitter account, Rita Ora's boyfriend Calvin Harris posted on Friday: "To address speculation - myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman & I wish her all the best."
The DJ posted the tweet after he was reported in the tabloids for allegedly flirting around with several women, MailOnline said.
The last time Rita Ora and Calvin Harris were seen together was during the "Watch What Happens Live" in New York City in April, the website revealed. They started dating in May 2013.
"Fifty Shades of Grey" cast Rita Ora earlier dished out on how they managed to make their long-distance relationship work.
"You have to fly each other out, you just have to. Sometimes you fly for 20 hours, sometimes you only fly for five hours. It's an effort, but you make it work," she told The Mirror.
"I'm not a fan of long distance relationships. If you had a choice, you want that person with you. It makes me pretty sad. But you work with what you've got," she added.
Meanwhile, TMZ alleged that Justin Bieber was the reason for the Rita Ora and Calvin Harris split.
In a report, Rita Ora's boyfriend Calvin Harris reportedly got wind of the rumor that Justin Bieber and the "Fifty Shades of Grey" cast became very close while they were recording together in the last few months. TMZ described their relationship as "touchy feely" because "she would sit on his lap, (and) he would rub her back."
Justin Bieber and "Fifty Shades of Grey" cast Rita Ora were also in Mexico in recent days, although the gossip news site is not clear whether they are together or not.
Rita Ora's boyfriend Calvin Harris also reportedly told her to remove all her things from his house in Los Angeles. The breakup also wasn't amicable as he won't allow the release of the songs that he produced for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" star.
