Jon Voight is forever coming home. The veteran actor and dad to Angelina Jolie never misses a chance to encourage the family. And the family tradition: Acting.

Angelina Jolie cast her daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, in her acting debut and Jon Voight says it was "wonderful" watching his granddaughter hit the screen for the first time in "Maleficent." Just like when Angelina made her debut alongside her father. Vivienne plays young Princess Aurora in the film.

The veteran actor said: ''[Vivienne was] magnificent. She's wonderful. 'It was a very lovely moment to see Angie with her on screen, and they were terrific together. It was just great. 'It's the most wonderful thing when you see your little granddaughter, just like when I saw Angie on the screen, you know.''

The 75-year-old star, who won a best acting Oscar for "Midnight Cowboy" and multiple nominations thereafter, told US Magazine that seeing Vivienne, the five year old daughter of Angeline Jolie and Brad Pitt, on screen reminded him of the time when Jolie made her debut in the 1982 motion picture "Lookin' to Get Out." Jon acted alongside Angelina in that comedy.

Angelina was just 4 years old, one year younger than her own daughter in the new Disney pic.

But Voight says comparisons are impossible. ''You can't compare them because each one is themselves. But it was really a knockout to see her. I'm telling you. It was great.''

Angelina said: "That's just Vivienne. We call her my shadow. She's a very... she's wonderfully affectionate, very much a mommy's girl and so it was a natural fit. It was very easy and very fun to do."

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt also have two sons Maddox, 12, Pax, 10, as well as Vivienne's twin Knox. Jolie is also mother to daughters Zahara, nine, and Shiloh, eight.
