Emma Watson and Miles Teller are reportedly in talks to become the lead stars of 'La La Land,' a romantic musical directed by 'Whiplash' creator, Damien Chazelle. 'Whiplash' emerged victorious at this year's Sundance Film Festival after nabbing the Audience and Grand Jury prize.

If negotiations are finalized, Emma Watson and Miles Teller will be playing the roles of two young artists trying their best to make a mark in the competitive city of Los Angeles. Despite the complications that come with their ambitions, actress Mia and jazz pianist Sebastian managed to fall in love with each other.

Recently, Chazelle revealed what he wanted to see in the upcoming musical: "I'd like to make a contemporary musical about L.A., starting with the L.A. we know but slowly building to a vision of the city as romantic metropolis-one that is actually worthy of the dreams it inspires. I'd like to make a musical about the way L.A.'s peculiar rhythms can push its residents to the edge of their emotions-be they hope, desperation or love."

'Divergent' actor Teller already worked with Chazelle in 'Whiplash.' If Emma Watson and Miles Teller agree to the role, production for 'La La Land' will commence in February.

The British beauty might have more time to focus on her acting career now that she has earned her English Literature degree from Brown University. The 'Harry Potter' actress believes that her degree will help her career as an artist.

"I've been very fulfilled by my studies. English has helped me think in an analytical way. It's helped me see the world from new perspectives. Diving into these stories and characters has given richness to my own life. And now, when I read scripts or look at stories, I have these references for a larger understanding of humanity. I'm sure it will make my job as an actress more interesting," she told Wonderland magazine.
