Kim Kardashian was seething mad when she heard Katie Couric criticized her in an InTouch interview. In response, the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star posted a photo on Instagram of Katie Couric's baby gift, which she sent to congratulate Kim and Kanye on the birth of their baby daughter North West.

"#IHateFakeMediaFriends #MayIHumblySuggestYouNotSendGiftsThenTalkS**t," Kim Kardashian captioned the photo, which is a baby gift from Couric that appears to be a cream-colored jacket with light-brown trim and tiny polka dots, New York Daily News reports

The gift is accompanied by a card from Katie, with a note that reads, "Fondly, Katie Couric."

Katie, 56, spoke to InTouch about the Kardashian, and according to Entertainmentwise.com, insisted that she didn't know why Kim and her family were so famous.

"I don't understand - why are they so famous? I think it's mostly teenage girls that are interested," Katie said.

Kim's response came as a surprise, as she has been hiding away in her mother, Kris Jenner's, Calabasas mansion with her baby, and hasn't made many public appearances or posts on social media.

Katie Couric responded to Kim Kardashian's Instagram photo in a statement to E! News: "I've met Kim before and I think she's a really sweet person."

"I was responding to a reporter's question, and explaining how I'm intrigued by the public's fascination with her family. I didn't mean to hurt her feelings. The gift is genuine, and I'm happy for Kim and Kanye."

Kim was recently spotted out in public with 8-week-old North, Kanye, and a nanny while heading to a doctor's appointment in Los Angeles, The New York Daily News reports.
