Google Play Store Update: ‘Package File Invalid’ Bug That Plagued Users After New Version’s Roll Out Marked ‘Fixed/Resolved’

The Google Play Store update brought in a number of changes to the apps marketplace The 4.3.10 offered a number of a fairly useful new features that Android Authority noted as convenient for users, but also a few technical issues.

Some users have been plagued with the “Package File Invalid” error messages when getting some of their apps updated since the new Google Play Store rolled out. Android Community said that there has been no discernible pattern on the bug as it doesn’t affect all apps nor does it affect all users of the same app.

Google acknowledged the issue by placing a ticket for it on its support site, reported the Android Community. The tech giant has found the cause for the problem and has fixed it, marking the issue as “Fixed/Resolved.”

Google did not give any explanation or further details. There was also no word on when or how the fix will be rolled out to users. The way it looks though, it seems that it has reached a number of users already. Some according to Android Community, have reported getting through the update process for affected apps.

Changes in Google Play Store

The latest version of the Google Play Store now has a Recently Updated section, reported Android Authority. According to the site, the section is focused on helping users find apps that have been, as the section’s name says, recently updated.

A new feature is combined update notifications, which alerts the users of updates for all the apps in their device in one section.

Old and current prices for the books inside Google Play are now shown and the placement of the Buy and Rent buttons for movies has been switched. The Wallet logo, usually located on the right next to these buttons has been removed.
