Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Release Date: HTC One Among First To Update to Android 4.3, Skips 4.2 Because It Offers 'Limited Customer Benefit'

HTC, known as one of the innovation leaders in the industry, is planning to beef its Android OS with the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.

HTC One, the company's flagship model is set to get the latest Android update according to company president of global sales Jason Mackenzie, skipping the 4.2 update which was released just over a month ago.

Mackenzie, in a tweet, said that "We definitely care and want you to have a great experience. [4.]2.2 is minor update so decided to go straight to 4.3," in a response to user Joshua Wein who complained that their HTC One developer edition did not get the 4.2 update while Verizon models have already released it to its subscribers.

And to reassure users that the company only thinks about their needs, he added, "because 4.3 is so close. And 2.2 offered limited customer benefit."

The newest update is slated for the brand's developer model HTC One, which is considered one of the top smartphones in the industry today. The developer edition was released earlier this year and features an unlocked bootloader, 64GB of unlocked storage, and whole ton of features for smartphone users who happen to be ROM developers at the same time.

The update will be released in the US sometime in September, while UK would get it probably several weeks to a month later.
