Katy Perry John Mayer Back Together on New Single; The Blues Man Isn’t “Running Anymore” From the California Girl (Video)

Katy Perry and John Mayer are back together on his new single “Who You Love,” and John Mayer who’s been running around with such A-List stars as Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift says he’s not “running anymore” from love with Katy Perry.

During an interview on Good Morning America, Grammy winning blues guitarist John Mayer said he has an interesting take on modern love. And Katy Perry seems to be appreciating it. Katy Perry posted a patriotic tweet that hinted at a reunion with John Mayer. Katy Perry also said that she is “pleased” with his new, more “Mature” album.

Talking about the new Katy Perry John Mayer duet, "Who You Love," Mayer said in an interiview this week in Billboard that the song takes "an interesting bend" on how people proclaim their love. John Mayer says it is especially relevant during the time that the Internet has created more isolation for some people.

John Mayer says he’s a little too familiar with isolation. The bluesman says a lot of people would rather live in their own world instead of having someone else around. John Mayer says he doesn’t feel that way with Katy Perry anymore.

John Mayer told Billboard "I kicked around this song about you love who you love. It's also a confessional for myself. I started singing [the song], `My girl, she ain't the one I saw coming and sometimes I don't know which way to go and I tried to run before, but I'm not running anymore.’ I tried to be alone and I can't."

As soon as John Mayer saw how the song was coming out he through it would make a great collaboration with his pop singer girlfriend, Katy Perry.

Mayer said "It's a really fun opportunity for her to write like her answer to that. So, you get these two sides to this relationship that are brutally honest."

Katy Perry's lines reflect how John Mayer is feeling. He says the mirror the "I give up" attitude he adopts when he stops running from love.

Katy Perry sings "My boy, he ain't the one that I saw coming. And some have said his heart's too hard to hold. And he takes a little time but you should see him when he shines."

Katy Perry and John Mayer dated for several months. The pair split up in March. Katy Perry and John Mayer got back together in June.
