‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: Silas First Look Picture In Paul Wesley Promo Photo Posted On Facebook Page, Ahead Of October Air Date; More Than 45,000 Likes

"The Vampire Diaries" season 5 premiere is October 3, and now new promo photos of Silas were posted on "The Vampire Diaries" Facebook page August 20. Paul Wesley looks nice and evil in the bleak photo, joining the dark side for the role of Silas.

The behind-the-scenes outtake from the show's newest photo shoot features Paul Wesley as Silas, HollywoodLife.com reports.

The photo comes with the caption: "Paul Wesley's looking sharp in this exclusive photo!"

The first look at Paul Wesley as Silas has more than 45,985 likes.

As "Vampire Diaries" fans know, Silas revealed that he was the original version of Stefan's doppelganger on the season 4 finale, Hollywood Life reports. Silas then locked Stefan in a safe, and sent him to the bottom of the quarry, and we previously reported that this means Silas will be free to wreak havoc on Mystic Falls, pretending to be the younger Salvatore brother.

Executive producer Julie Plec hinted that viewers will learn more about Stefan's doppelganger come season 5, which has an air date in October.

"[There will be] a pretty cool mythology that will carry on in terms of Silas, and the mystery of his past - 1,000 or 2,000 years ago," Plec said during the show's panel June 9 at the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Hollywood Life reports.

According to Wet Paint, at this year's Comic-Con panel, fans saw an intense premiere clip of Silas addressing a group of humans at the Mystic Falls End of Summer Party.

"This summer I have consumed an immeasurable amount of blood and I have found myself getting stronger and stronger every day," Silas says to the captivated Mystic Falls crowd. "And I started to wonder, what are the limits to my powers? How many people can I influence? Two? Ten? An entire town square?"

Meanwhile, Stefan is suffering from painful hallucinations in his watery cell, the website reports.
