Sony PS4 Release Date Announced: Coming In November To 32 Countries; Games, Price, And New Features To Look For With Next PlayStation

Sony announced the official PS4 release date will be November 15 in North America and November 29 in Latin America, Australia and Europe. Sony also announced new games, features, and the price of the PS4, yesterday at the Gamescom conference in Cologne, Germany.

The price of the new Sony console will be $399, USA Today reports.

Sony says 15 disc-based games will be available between the PlayStation 4 launch and the end of the year 2013. Sony says 33 games will be ready by the end of the year, including digital downloads, USA Today reports.

"We are very excited excited about the fact that we have 180 games in development and that there will be over 30 of them available on shelves before the end of the holiday season," Sony Computer Entertainment America president and CEO Jack Tretton told USA Today.

"It is a very exciting time for us and for the gamer," he said.

New features for the PS4 include Remote Play will be available for almost every PlayStation 4 game as well as PS Vita games, meaning gamers can use Wi-Fi to stream games from their PS4 to their PS Vita, The Latin Post reports. Sony Music Unlimited Service will be accessible on the PS4 as well. Gamers can simply press the PS4 controller's PS button in order to listen to music while they game. Twitch will also be available on the PlayStation 4.
