Ashton Kutcher Slammed by Apple Co-Founder for 'Flat' Steve Jobs Protrayal

Ashton Kutcher portraying Steve Jobs drew some negative reactions. 

Ashton Kutcher took the coveted title role of Steve Jobs in the film, "Jobs." This is a career-defining role for Kutcher and a chance to show his serious side, veering away from Comedy, which has been a staple for him.

The 35 year-old actor took his role seriously, and intensely studied Steve Jobs. He has made an effort to lose weight (18 lbs to be exact) and he even strictly followed the fruitarian diet that Steve Jobs adhered to.

Kutcher also wanted to make an accurate portrayal of Steve Jobs, founder of Apple. The actor interviewed the industry leaders that Jobs considered as his role models. "I started consuming the things that he consumed," said Kutcher. "I started studying entrepreneurs he admired, listening to the music he listened to, eating the food he ate and walking the way he walked."  

He has tried to reach out to all those involved with Apple, all the way to its early years.

One person that Kutcher tried to reach was Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founder and very close associate of Steve Jobs. His opinion would matter a lot, and his reaction to Kutcher's portrayal was not the most pleasant.

In an interview with ABC News, Wozniak stated that he was not impressed with the way Ashton Kutcher imitated Steve Jobs, hinting that the actor concentrated on superficial details and that the performance 'fell flat.' The Apple co-founder noted that Kutcher failed to capture the passion of Steve Jobs, which is what propelled him to become a global icon.

Kutcher has addressed Wozniak's comments when he spoke with the Associated Press. He points out that Wozniak made himself scarce when they reached out to him, and that Wozniak had already been supporting a different Steve Jobs movie.

"Steve Wozniak is being paid by another company to support their Steve Jobs film," Kutcher said. "It's personal for him but it's also business."
