Demi Lovato Instagram Photo UPDATE: ‘X Factor’ USA Judge Goes Au Naturel, Posts Make-Up Free Selfie

The 21-year-old Latina singer ditched makeup and bared her au naturel face for the first time on Instagram! Lovato, who is typically seen with kohl-rimmed eyes and faux lashes, went for a plain yet flawless look which surprised her more than 2 million Instagram followers.

The selfie was taken a day after the 2013 Teen Choice Awards which took place at the Gibson Ampitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday, August 11. Lovato launched her new catchy single "Made in the U.S.A." with Nick Jonas in the exclusive awards event.

The rocker chick nonchalantly accompanied the photo with the caption, "Was sooooooo sleepy yesterday. #TCAs." The photo was a far cry from Lovato's glamorous looks. She was wearing a V-neck white shirt with her blonde hair lightly tousled.

More than generating likes, her intention is to encourage women to embrace their flaws and be proud of their natural beauty. Back in April, she urged her Twitter followers to forget about superficial beauty enhancers, "Ladies, be brave today! Take off your make-up and stop using those filters!! WE are beautiful!!!"

It is unusual for celebrities to proudly go out sans makeup but Lovato isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Lovato had a very difficult period in her life consisting of weight issues and rehabilitation. Nonetheless, such period did not hinder her from reviving her career. Fans were in awe of how the young singer recovered from her personal battles.
