'Fifty Shades of Grey' Casting Rumors Eye Chris Evans, Dakota Johnson; No Safe Word Yet

"Fifty Shades of Grey" movie cast rumors at Universal are now focusing on the Chris Evans and Charlie Hunnam. The latest famous faces that are on the gossip mill to play Christian Grey in the adaptation of E.L. James's bestselling novel “50 Shades of Grey.”

The "Fifty Shades of Grey" casting is one of the most eagerly awaited announcements in Hollywood. The announcement for the stars of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie is expected to come in just a few weeks.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James recently posted a picture on her Twitter account with Chris Evans.

The caption read "Having fun..."

The tweet sent the "Fifty Shades of Grey" rumor mill into overdrive.

Fifty Shades of Grey" author E.L. James also tweeted a picture of herself "Game of Thrones" writer George R.R. Martin, but no one is talking about that.

Besides Chris Evans, this week has been a busy one for Fifty Shades of Grey speculation, there were rumors that would have "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam wielding the whip as Christian Grey role, while Dakota Johnson of "21 Jump Street" was rumored to be filling Anastasia "Ana" Steel’s shoes.

There have also been rumors about Alex Pettyfer, Ian Somerhalder, Ryan Gosling and Robert Pattinson to take charge.

There has been no safe word announced.

Sam Taylor-Johnson, who directed "Nowhere Boy,” will be sitting in the “50 Shades of Grey” director’s chair. The screenplay for the movie adaptation of “Fifty Shades of Grey” was written by Kelly Marcel, who penned "Saving Mr. Banks." The film version of the erotic literary sensation by E L James will be produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti. "Fifty Shades of Grey" is a Universal Pictures and Focus Features film.

Universal is expected to release an official casting announcement for “Fifty Shades of Grey” after Labor Day. The film opens wide on Aug. 1, 2014.
