‘Fifty Shades Of Grey’ Movie Cast Announcement Will Be Made Next Month? Rumors Say ‘Serious Contender’ For Anastasia Steele Is ‘The Social Network’ Dakota Johnson

The cast of "Fifty Shades of Grey" may be announced by next month, sources say, as the movie release date looms closer. New rumors say Anastasia Steele will be played by Dakota Johnson, who appeared on "The Social Network."

TheWrap.com reports that in order to make the previously-announced August 1, 2014 release date, Universal Pictures will have to solidify a cast for the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie before Halloween. According to The Wrap, an official casting announcement will most likely come after Labor Day.

The Wrap also reports that Dakota Johnson is a "serious contender" for the role of Anastasia Steele. Dakota was in "21 Jump Street" as well, and is the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith.

The movie cast rumors have been heating up, and other names floating around include Lily Collins, Emma Watson, Shailene Woodley, Alicia Vikander and Analeigh Tipton, The Huffington Post reports.

The Wrap reports that a source told the website a decision regarding Christian's casting won't be made until after the filmmakers know who will play Anastasia. Some recent names suggested for Christian Grey's role include "Pacific Rim" star Charlie Hunnam.

Sam Taylor-Johnson ("Nowhere Boy") is directing from a script by Kelly Marcel ("Saving Mr. Banks"), who adapted the erotic literary sensation by E L James, The Wrap reports.
