`Boardwalk Empire' Season 4 Spoilers: Nucky Thompson Goes Up Against A New Threat; Al Capone on the Rise; Who Can We Believe? (Video)

“Boardwalk Empire” season 4 spoilers are spilling out of HBO and Geekdom like bullets from a Tommy Gun. But who is to be believed?

One of the first Board Empire Season 4 spoilers involves former Prohibition Agent Van Alden, who is now working for Dean O’Banion. According to the “Boardwalk Empire” trailer, Van Alden gets on the inside of Al Capone's gang to get intelligence he can relay to Dean O’Banion, who is fighting for control of the Chicago rackets. The press release and trailer from HBO tease that Van Alden may have to to kill one of Capone's men.

The “Boardwalk Empire” press release says, "When one of their collectors is incapacitated, Al and Frank Capone decide to finish his route, enlisting a reluctant Van Alden to tag along."

Although it is possible that Van Alden would be reluctant to join the Capone team because they’d run into O'Banion's gang. The shows Capone's gang confronting O'Banion's crew. It later shows Van Alden pointing a gun at a man who is crawling away while other gangsters fight in the background.

Van Alden first met O'Banion in “Boardwalk Empire” season 3. Van Alden pretended to take O'Banion's side in a fight a rival gangster from Capone’s gang. Van Alden only trying to to sell O'Banion an iron in his cover job as a door-to-door salesman. Van Alden is living under cover after he took off from Atlantic City after getting nabbed for drowning another agent at an outdoor church gathering.

There’s an expression that you know your real friends because they will help you dispose of a body. Dean O'Banion was certainly friendly when he helped get of a cop that was killed by Van Alden's wife. The cop only came to the house to return a defective iron, but Van Alden's wife thought he was there to bust Van Alden for peddling booze.

According to Den of Geek, you can’t trust trailers because their job is to misrepresent the facts.

“Boardwalk Empire” Season 4 premieres Sunday Sept. 8 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
