Brandy Concert- Performs To 40 People In Almost-Empty 90,000-Seat Arena, Walks Off After Two Songs, "Sulked"

Brandy concert went wrong this week. Brandy reportedly performed  to an almost- empty arena in South Africa this week....then walked off the stage after two songs.

Brandy was the surprise guest at the concert at the Nelson Mandela Sports and Cultural Day concert in Soweto on Saturday. However, almost everyone in attendance at the Brandy concert was gone by the time Grammy Award-winning R&B singer got on stage.

That would be a very awkward surprise.

Only about 40 people were left in the 90,00- person arena.

Tens of thousands of people were watching the rugby and soccer matches earlier in the day at the FNB stadium. However, once the music started, people piled out...and there were four acts before Brandy.

"Brandy [just] performed to an empty stadium. With the stadium lights on," tweeted Kabomo, a South African musician. "It was late. People didn't know there was a concert after the games. No one knew Brandy was around. Maybe a 40 people audience ... She sulked after two songs and walked off."

The issue may have been partly one of a lack of promotion-the Brandy concert in South Africa wasn't spoken about on social media or Twitter, as the star usually does. Then again, it was supposed to be a surprise, right?

South Africa's national television broadcast of the event finished right before Brandy's concert as well.

Since the Brandy concert ended, she has been promoting her performances like whoa on Twitter and Facebook...but hasn't said a word about the awkward incident. Neither has her management.

Brandy has had some serious drama in her past, including one incident that was much graver than playing to an empty arena. In 2006, she was involved in a car accident that killed one woman and subsequently resulted in years of litigation.

Since then, though, Brandy's gotten into drama of a different stripe-acting. The "Moesha" cast member has made appearances on 90210" and "The Game" and appeared in Tyler Perry's "Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor."

She will be on Chris Brown's upcoming album "X". Her sixth studio album "Two Eleven," was released last year.
