Zayn Malik And Perrie Edwards Engagement UPDATE: Little Mix Singer’s Mother Can’t Hide Excitement, Says Daughter’s Fiance Is ‘Absolutely Gorgeous’

Wedding bells will soon be ringing for Zayn Malik who recently confirmed his engagement with Little Mix' lead singer Perrie Louise Edwards.

The stunning three-stone engagement ring made its debut at the premiere for One Direction's film 'This Is Us' at London's Leicester Square.

Fans were left speculating since the young couple did not announce their engagement that night fearing it might be bigger news than the film premiere itself.

In an interview with Real radio, Edwards's mother, Debbie, has been very vocal with her enthusiasm for her future son-in-law:  "It's wonderful because Zayn is absolutely gorgeous. It's true they got engaged on Sunday and it's absolutely lovely. Perrie loves him to pieces and it's perfect. They get on so well together and understand each other. It's just fabulous."

The 20-year-old heartthrob used his Twitter to thank his fans for their well wishes. He wrote:

"Never been more happy in my life! Thank you to everyone that has been so lovely about my engagement to my beautiful fiancé!"

Although very much in love with his soon-to-be wife, Malik insisted that they're not rushing the wedding preparations.

The engaged couple started dating in December 2011 when former participants One Direction visited the set of 'X Factor' to meet its new batch of aspiring singers.
