Google Nexus 5 Release Date: Android-Based Device To Be Launched October, Will Carry 5.0 Key Lime Pie, Full HD Screen And 16MP Camera By Nikon

Google Nexus 5 release date rumors point to an October announcement, with a November release date. The new Nexus 5 based on the most recent report could have high-end specs, but to this day still has no manufacturer.

According to PC Advisor, the Google Nexus 5 will also be the next device to introduce the newest version of Android, 5.0 Key Lime Pie.

Other rumored specs for the new Nexus 5 include a Full HD screen that is either 5in or 2in in size, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz and a breakthrough standard of 3GB of RAM for the smartphone. It’s also reported that it will have a 16MP camera made by Nikon.

The specs for the upcoming Google Nexus 5 are strikingly similar to the LG G2 smartphone which would be launched this September. Many speculations suggest that LG maybe the chosen manufacturer for the Nexus 5 device.

PC Advisor noted that the release of Google Nexus 5 could be joined by a new version of the Nexus 10 as well. The Nexus 5 device was earlier rumored to be launched at the Google I/O developer conference last May, but it didn’t happen.

Last July, Google partner Asus launched the New Nexus 7 tablet, which could well be a signal that the Mountain View giant maybe preparing to show off more hardware launches in the coming months.

Android fans are now focused on what the new device would have to offer compared to its rivals the likes of Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z and HTC One

In a report by the International Business Times, the manufacturer of the Nexus 5 could be a toss between LG and Motorola. The former was the company of choice by Google to build the Nexus 4.
