Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Specs: Phablet Doesn't Get OIS Due To Supply Issues, Might Be Available On Galaxy S5

Most consumers today are looking for no-compromise smartphones which will certainly make a run for their money. Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 3 certainly has the potential to satisfy their needs. But as announcement date approaches, a new rumored specification compromise might just break all their hopes.

According to Korean technoblog ETNews, the upcoming flagship phone from Samsung would not with Optimical Image Stabilization or OIS, as opposed to what was initially reported. The report said the manufacturer initially planned to include the new technology into the Note 3, but potential supply shortages opted them to skip OIS.

The website also added that Samsung may include the OIS in its phone releases next year, including the Galaxy 5.

OIS is a camera technology that provides better shots and video quality in spite of sudden movements by the device or camera. In recent years, it has been one of the most commended camera features in smartphones. Nokia paved the way for OIS with its Lumia lineup, while HTC and LG have also joined the bandwagon this year with the One and the upcoming G2.

Samsung has already used OIS in its cameraphone version of the Galaxy S4, the Zoom.

According to reports, there are only three manufacturers all over the globe which produce OIS parts, and they do so with limited supply. However, there has been news that the production of these supplies would soon increase due to the large demand from phone manufacturers such as Samsung, Sony and Nokia.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be announced on September 4, in Berlin, Germany.
