Since coming out on Twitter, Raven Symone has received a strange treatment: Being compared to Miley Cyrus.
It is a particularly fascinating meme that began ever since Raven Symone quietly voiced her support of gay marriage on Twitter.
Since then, the hashtag #childhoodruined has plagued Twitter with fans commenting on how the "That's So Raven" star's coming out has ruined their image of the once young starlet.
But, many people are stepping up and defending Raven Symone's decision to come out. However, a strange comparison started being made between the judgment faced by Raven Symone to that of Miley Cyrus after her transformation.

One possible reason is the transformation of Miley Cyrus from the Disney character Hannah Montana to her twerking "We Can't Stop" image. The hashtag #childhoodruined appears to be applying to both Raven Symone and Miley Cyrus, albeit for vastly different reason.
"Claiming that the actions of former child stars can somehow retroactively 'ruin' entire childhoods is a popular internet pastime," writes Junkee contributor Alasdair Duncan.
"Here's the thing, though: nobody, not even lesbians, can travel back in time and destroy your happy childhood memories, and if you think any different, then you should probably be asking yourself some serious questions about how you manage to function as an adult."
So, despite fans defending Raven Symone coming out on Twitter using Miley Cyrus, the controversy seems to continue over whether this is mistreating yet another childhood star growing up in front of our eyes.
