The iPhone 5s release date may be announced at a September 10 event.  These Apple rumors started because iOS 7 is also supposed to be released at the September 10 event. 

The iPhone 5C may also be announced.  The iPhone 5C is a cheaper plastic alternative to the iPhone 5S.

According to an email sent to developers from Nuance, the company behind Siri, the general availability date for iOS 7 is set for September 10.  Usually the devices are released at the same time as the iOS.  However, the general release date for the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c probably won't happen for at least a week.  The Huffington Post says they could be available September 20.

The beta version of iOS 7 has been available to developers since its WWDC 2013 unveiling in June.  iOS 7 has been incrementally updated by Apple since its release date.  The Gold Master version, usually set out to developers before the general release date, hasn't been released lately, but if these Apple rumors about a September 10 iOS7, iphone 5s and iphone 5c release date are true, it should be out very soon.

TechRadar says that consumers may be able to trade their old iPhone 4 and 4s for the new iPhone 5s and get a discount.

The launches of Apple iphones in the past have been significantly anticipated cultural events.  People stand in lines for hours in New York to get their hands on the latest iPhone, which is often seen as a fashion accessory as much as a technological device.  We will see if the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c will generate the same level of interest.
