Ian Somerhalder And Nina Dobrev Back Together? 'The Vampire Diaries' Actress Congratulates Damon Salvatore For His Latest Environmental Award

Apart from being a smoldering supernatural in 'The Vampire Diaries', Ian Somerhalder is similarly known for his off-cam environmental endeavors. His works for the nature did not escape the attention of the highly-acclaimed Condé Nast Traveler.

Somerhalder was hailed as one of Condé Nast Traveler's 2013 Visionaries for his contributions as an environmental advocate. According to the award-giving body's website, Somerhalder was chosen to be one of the 8 award recipients because "he is using his celebrity-and social media-to energize a new generation of conservationists."

His former girlfriend and current co-star, Nina Dobrev, expressed her praises through Twitter:

"VISIONARIES Award?!? Thats amazing+in such good company. Frieda Pinto,President of Mexico Etc."

The 'Lost' star replied to Dobrev's congratulatory tweet: "Thank you NINA-thank you for the love&support.Truly. Xo Ian."

Instead of saying a simple "thank you", Somerhalder or also known as Damon Salvatore showed his appreciation through a virtual gratitude speech:

"I'm crazy stupid proud to be in this.Thank you to all for this honor and I look forward to collaborating with all I met last night.Such a monumental moment in my Life.
