Kingdom Hearts 3 News: Release Date Prompted By HD 1.5 Remix Version? Series Producer Discusses Future Of Series

Kingdom Hearts 3 producer Shinji Hashimoto discussed the series with IGN and spoke about the pressure caused by releasing HD 1.5 Remix and how it is prompting an announcement for the release date of the next game.

"It's been 11 years since the original game was out and now we'll have Kingdom Hearts III at some stage in the future," Hashimoto told IGN.

"The people who played the original game, at the time they were probably around 12 or 13...but now they're in their twenties...While fans of Disney are usually quite young and Final Fantasy players are much older, they come together to create a Kingdom Hearts audience that's very unique. The feelings people have towards the series are so deep these days because they spent many of their teenage years, which is a very sensitive period of your personal life, with Kingdom Hearts."

Square Enix, the developer of Kingdom Hearts 3, is rumored to be awaiting the development of FlowMotion technology on next-generation consoles Playstation 4 and Xbox One to release the game.

"Square Enix could take full advantage of the next gen consoles and give gamers an open expansive Disney world which would be perfect for FlowMotion. We could also fill up the expansive world with Disney characters that we could interact with," a source revealed to SidhTech.com.

"With Dream Drop Distance came FlowMotion and this was very interesting for getting around worlds. The issue though was that some of the older levels were cramped and this system worked best with open regions. It retained some of the platforming elements and this brought about issues with control."
