Blackberry 10 Phones: T-Mobile Axes Manufacturer's Smartphones In Retail Stores, Online Purchases Still Available

It has not been a kind year for phone maker Blackberry. It was supposed to make a big comeback with the Blackberry 10 phones such as the Z10 and Q10. Unfortunately, the two phones failed miserably as far as sales is concerned and since then it seems every effort to regain traction in the market is futile.

Now, even its network carrier partners are making their move.

T-Mobile just announced that it would not offer Blackberry's smartphones in their retail outlets anymore. While customers would still be able to order them, and have them shipped to their respective addresses, they would not find any in T-Mobile's stores.

According to the carrier's executive vice president David Carrey, "keeping stock in the retail distribution system was inefficient." That is mainly because the phone maker has been targeting enterprise markets and businesses which rarely drop by retail stores. In effect, keeping transactions online would be more convenient for T-Mobile.

Just last week, it has been reported that Blackberry laid off 4,500 people just to continue its operation. Fairfax Financial Holdings has already expressed its interest in acquiring the once top phone brand for $4.7 billion.
