Watch The American Horror Story Coven Title Sequence Now: Why Are Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, And Jamie Brewer Left Off The Billing?

"American Horror Story: Coven" is just around the corner, and Ryan Murphy has revealed the Easter egg-filled title sequence for season 3.

In the title sequence, scenes related to witchcraft and voodoo is inserted amidst the cast of key players.

But one interesting thing to note about this "American Horror Story: Coven" title sequence is the list of names that appear. In this order, they are: Sarah Paulson, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Emma Roberts, Denis O'Hare, Kathy Bates, and Jessica Lange.

However, fans of "American Horror Story: Coven" know that big names such as Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Patti Lupone, and Jamie Brewer (a veteran of the series) are not in the star billing.

Bassett, Sidibe, and Brewer are heavily featured in the promos, posters, and even the teasers, so why are they left off the star billing?

The pure and technical theory, of course, is that they are not in enough episodes to be called series regulars, and will only be recurring characters.

The darker fan theory for this "American Horror Story: Coven" title sequence is that perhaps we have an idea of some early deaths for this upcoming season.

"American Horror Story: Coven" will center around Miss Robichaux's Academy for Exception Young Ladies, a school which houses and educates young witches to protect themselves against attacks that plague their kind.
