Nina Dobrev Derek Hough Dating As Bill Nye Injury Fast-Tracks Potential Elimination: Could Amber Riley Win Dancing With The Stars Season 17?

The cast of "Dancing with the Stars" are heating up as Nina Dobrev is confirmed to be dating Derek Hough and a Bill Nye injury could push Amber Riley further ahead in the race.

As confirmed by Us Magazine, Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough have been dating since last month thanks to Derek's sister Julianne!

"[Nina] was hanging a lot with Derek's sister Julianne," says a source. "Then she fell for him."

According to Dobrev, this is a lot sooner than she anticipated, after splitting from Ian Somerhalder in May.

"I've been a relationship girl and I've been in long-term relationships my whole life until this point, so I think I'm looking forward to spending some time with myself and finding myself again," says Nina Dobrev prior to meeting Derek Hough.

"I'm just discovering different sides of me and growing and then I'll figure out what I like in a man when I see it."

In the meantime, a Bill Nye injury could make him the first injury-related elimination on "Dancing with the Stars" season 17.

According to Newsmax, Bill Nye suffered a torn ligament during Monday's show, and is currently seeking medical attention.

And although fans are saddened by the Bill Nye injury, Derek Hough and his partner Amber Riley might be just a little bit relieved that they are continuing on in the race, and doing quite well at that.

"I feel very accomplished after last night because I didn't think it was something I would able to do. I know that I can dance, but my focus hasn't been on dancing and performing as much," writes Amber Riley on Parade.com.

"I really want to get the technique right. I definitely take the judges' critiques to heart because I want to execute the technique the way all the pro dancers do. I may not actually achieve it, but it's a good goal for me."
