Plants Vs. Zombies 2 for Android will launch next month, Polygon.com reports, leaving many wondering what to expect from the game.

"According to the source, Plants vs. Zombies 2 - which launched on iOS last month worldwide, and on Android only in China earlier this month - was given the launch window of October, though no firm release date was revealed," the website reported after speaking to sources close to EA's operations.

There were also reported rumors that Apple paid the developer substantial amounts of money to delay game's release for Android OS to boos their own sales, but EA squashed speculation by announcing that was not the case.

The rumor does not point to an exact release date next month, but confirms that it will be available in October.

Plants Vs. Zombies 2 was released in China for Android users earlier this month, but still awaits a launch in the United States and the United Kingdom.

EA's game focuses on tower defense and allows gamers to time travel to Ancient Egypt, the Wild West and the Pirate Seas.
