Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix: 2.5 Version Coming Soon? Square Enix Reveals They Will Develop Update If Game Remains Popular

Square Enix will release a 2.5 version of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix if the game remains popular, Shinji Hashimoto, producer of the game's seriers, revealed to IGN.

"If everyone plays 1.5 HD Remix, if everyone likes it and everyone supports us, then 2.5 HD Remix could happen. So at this stage, we just have to encourage people to play 1.5 HD Remix!" Hashimoto told the website.

"The fact is that the main focus of the series is Sora and Riku; how their friendship develops, but also how they grow up - after so many years, the players' personal growth is closely tied to the game's story at this point, so that's the most important thing about the series and what we want to put into the game."

The release of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix has also prompted announcements as it relates to the release date of Kingdom Hearts 3.

While Kingdom Hearts 3 has been confirmed for a release, there is no word on an official date for the game's arrival.

But speculation suggests Square Enix would be awaiting the development of FlowMotion technology on next-generation consoles Playstation 4 and Xbox One to release the game.

"Square Enix could take full advantage of the next gen consoles and give gamers an open expansive Disney world which would be perfect for FlowMotion. We could also fill up the expansive world with Disney characters that we could interact with," a source revealed to SidhTech.com.
