Google Nexus 5, Android Kit Kat 4.4 Release Date One Month After Apple Unveils iPhone 5S, 5C, And iOS 7?

Google Nexus 5 and the new Android Kit Kat 4.4 operating system may have a release date next month, which would mean the Google Nexus 5 and the Android Kit Kat 4.4 will be released just a month after Apple unveiled the new iPhone 5S, 5C, and iOS 7.

The Google Nexus 5 was originally going to run Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with LG as its manufacturer, Design & Trend reports. Now, rumors are suggesting that Google will release Nexus 5 and Nexus 11 running Android Kit Kat 4.4 at a big Google event in October, just a month after the release date of iOS 7 and Apple's new iPhones, the 5S and 5C, at an Apple media event.

Apple is also reportedly set to unveil the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 before the end of the year, so a big Google event in October would make sense for the Nexus 5 and Android Kit Kat 4.4 release date, Design & Trend reports.

A new video may confirm the rumors of an October release date for Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 Kit Kat, the website reports. The video, which is twelve seconds long, shows the alleged Nexus 5's lock screen, with the reported first glimpse of Android 4.4. By the looks of the video, there will also be an update to the Android font. The smartphone was reportedly left to charge in a bar by a Google employee, and the barkeeper snapped a few photos and captured a video of the phone. So if the phone is already operable, it's just a matter of time before the Nexus 5 is released to the public.

IB Times also reports unofficial technical specifications available at GSMArena, showing that LG seems to be the maker behind Google's Nexus 5. The next-generation Nexus smartphone features in the documents include the Android Kit Kat 4.4, as well as 5.0 inches of True HD IPS Plus display with 1080 x 1920 HD resolution, 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3 GB of RAM, 13 MP camera and 16/32 GB internal storage.
