iPad Mini 2 Release Date: Alleged 'Champagne' Gold Tablet Spotted In Leaked Image, Touch ID Sensor Present

Last year, the first generation iPad mini became one of the top tablets in the market, thanks to its portable build as well as the lower price tag. With just a few weeks away from Apple's next unveiling event, this leaked image of the iPad mini 2 may be spot on.

As seen from the images published by zol.com.cn, the next generation iPad mini may also don the champagne gold color of the iPhone 5S. And as you can see, the tablet looks stunningly gorgeous, to think that it may still be in the development phase.

In another photo, the upcoming Apple tablet may also come with the iPhone 5S' highly-touted Touch ID fingerprint sensor. While the inclusion of this sensor may seem questionable, it would still be something fans and customers would surely welcome.

In case you haven't heard yet, the next generation iPad mini will finally get a Retina display, and an older but still capable A6 processor.

Apple's next event is rumored to be held on Oct. 15, with the iPad mini and a newly-designed iPad 5 as the stars of the show.
