Google Maps Street View Captures Last Photo Of Deceased Grandmother: 'Grandma Alice' Lives On In Memory- And Online

Google Maps Street View has given a man the last remaining photo of his beloved, deceased grandmother.

Technology has granted a coincidental boon to the Portland, Ore., man seeking closure in the death of his Grandma Alice.

Dustin Moore told Reddit users that he likes to spend his spare time crusing around the world on Street View. The feature shows views of locations all around the world-and he happened to take a glance at his grandmother's house.

Moore was shocked to see his Grandma Alice sitting on the porch of her Portland, Ore. home, reading the paper.

The white-haired old woman is sitting by a purple plant, looking calm and very much alive. And the view gave him peace, Moore said.

The Google Street View image may be the last photograph of his deceased grandmother.

"What surprised me, was that google [sic] captured one of the last few pictures of my grandma, because she passed away less than a year after that picture was taken," Moore wrote on Reddit. "I thought it was such an uplifting and awesome picture because it showed just how laid back and awesome she was."

The photos are captured by Google using cameras that are equipped to capture 360-degree panoramic shots. The maps keep expanding-Google has recently added hiking trails and remote locations such as the Galapagos Islands.

"I was like, 'Well, grandma's gone, but she still somehow lives on in Google and is watching over us," Moore said.
