"How I Met Your Mother" season 9 spoilers reveal that Bryan Cranston from "Breaking Bad" will return to "How I Met Your Mother" to reprise his role as Ted Mosby's unstable boss, Hammond Druthers. Will he return in season 9 in a flashback, or at the wedding?

CBS announced that "Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston would reprise his role as Druthers in season 9 of "How I Met Your Mother," in a Twitter post from a few days ago: "CASTING NEWS! @BryanCranston returns to #HIMYM later this fall as Hammond Druthers! #BreakingMOTHER"

The last time we saw Bryan Cranston as Druthers, he was Ted Mosby's hated boss, who Ted eventually fired in season 2 after he also suffered a heart attack and a divorce, Hypable reports.

We know that season 9 of "How I Met Your Mother" takes place entirely at Robin and Barney's wedding. Since Druthers never interacted with either Robin or Barney, we're speculating that Druthers will appear in a flashback (or even flash-forward), rather than as a guest or party crasher at the wedding in season 9.

When do you think Cranston will make his guest appearance?

No official word yet from CBS, but we're hoping it's sooner rather than later!

Cranston first appeared as Druthers in the show's second season in 2007. This was before "Breaking Bad" had even aired and Cranston was only known as "the dad from 'Malcolm in the Middle,'" Hypable reports.

Cranston's "How I Met Your Mother" appearance will be his first post-"Breaking Bad" TV appearance, but he's already nailed down several film roles, including "Godzilla" and "Get a Job."

He is also reportedly cast as Lex Luthor in the "Man of Steel" sequel.
