OS X Mavericks Release Date: After iOS 7 Glitches And User Disarray, Will You Immediately Switch To The New Apple OS Once It’s Released? [POLL]

OS X Mavericks release date is expected to be on October 15 but the coming update of the new Mac operating system is slightly sidelined by multiple reports on iOS 7 glitches.

“The fallout from the iOS 7 shows no signs of abating as more reports of glitches in Apple’s new operating system continue to appear online,” read a report by the U.K.’s Telegraph.

One major complaint from those who took the plunge to update to iOS 7 is long delays on the update process. Some have complained waiting more than 24 hours to get it installed, reported The Telegraph.

Users were also constantly being logged out of their accounts, according to The Verge, which prompted many app producers to go into “crisis mode” when the iOS 7 was made available for download.

Although both the OS X Mavericks and the iOS 7 are two completely different OS, the latter for mobile and the former for Apple desktops and Macbooks, it’s the nature of the update and the fact that some apps (both for mobile, Macbooks and desktop) may not be compatible once the new OS is installed.

A key security glitch raised with the iOS 7 update was that it allows anyone to make calls from a locked iPhone, technology blog NDTV gadgets reported.

“Apple take user security very seriously. We are aware of this issue, and will deliver a fix in a future software update,” a spokeswoman from the Cupertino tech giant noted about the issue, as reported by The Telegraph.

The Mac's newest operating system was announced last June at the company’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) and is now on its eight developers’ preview, the new operating system is reported now undergoing tweaks and is being tested for a final release.

New features for the upcoming OS X include a new Mapps app, tabbed finder, iBooks, and an overhauled look at the calendar. Safari, the flagship browser for the Mac and iCloud Keychain is also in the new version with notable updates.

The price of updating to the OS X Mavericks has yet to be identified but in a June article by PC Mag, the most recent update, being the Mountain Lion costs $19.99 at the time of release, the update prior to Mountain Lion, Lion costs $29.99. The tech publication noted that it’s hard to imagine Apple charging more for the OS X Mavericks operating system considering the price of new updates has gone down over the years.
