Bachelorette Season 10 Andi Dorfman On Gay Contestants: Critics Pan Female Depiction On ABC Reality Series

As "The Bachelorette" season 10 begins airing on ABC, star Andi Dorfman took the time to address some interesting rumors about the contestants.

During an interview with Kristin Dos Santos on E! Online, Andi Dorfman addressed the rumor that several contestants on "The Bachelorette" season 10 might be gay.

How many contestants are actually gay, according to Dorfman?

"Zero!"

But how does she feel about the outcome of "The Bachelorette" season 10 after meeting 25 contestants?

"Looking back, there were times when it was really hard and tiring. It sounds really great to date 25 guys, but it's a handful at times," said Dorfman. "But looking back, amazing experience."

Some critics and viewers believe that Andi Dorfman is a new representation of the type of women which can be featured on a series like "The Bachelorette."

"Unlike her predecessors, she is praised for being smart, ambitious and opinionated. Fan girls tell her they too wish to pursue law school. Being Jewish, she also checks a diversity box the series has been hit hard for ignoring," wrote New York Times contributor Allison Yarrow.

"She is a new breed of bachelorette."

But others are less quick to compliment the state of "The Bachelorette" now that season 10 is upon us.

"I am willing to bet that most 'professional, ambitious, smart, and opinionated' young women are spending time on more worthier pursuits than even watching reality TV, let alone wanting to emulate a contestant on the show," wrote a commentator in response to Yarrow's article.
