3 Idols Who Attended National Assembly—Will NewJeans Hanni Talk About Workplace Bullying?

Many idols have attended the national assembly to talk about the K-pop industry. This time, attention is focused on NewJeans Hanni's participation to potentially talk about workplace bullying and go against HYBE.

On Sept. 30th, the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee summoned NewJeans Hanni ahead of the state audit on Oct. 25th to discuss the topic: Workplace Bullying and harassment.

The committee held a plenary session on the same day and approved 35 witnesses and references prior to their state audit.

If Hanni attends, she will most likely be asked to further talk about the harsh treatment she received from a staff under HYBE during the live broadcast the idol revealed last month.

There is a high expectation if she will attend or not, given that it means going against her parent company HYBE and label, ADOR. If she does not go, she will have to submit a written explanation with a justifiable reason.

Failure to do so will be punished with fines or imprisonment.

Prior to Hanni, three idols were also summoned by the National Assembly including former Teen Top CAP (Bang Minsoo), former Brave Girls Noh Hyeran (Jainros), and ex-Bob Girls Heo Yu Jeong.

Yu Jeong, on the other hand, delved into idols' and trainees' right to have systematic education that will protect their human rights.
