2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Kevin Love To Sacramento? Kings Willing To Trade For All-Star Forward Even Without Extension!

Kevin Love still leads the rounds of 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions. The newest player in the Love sweepstakes emerges. They might even emerge as a dark horse-the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings, under their new ownership, has vowed to make aggressive moves to break into the playoffs. They traded their expiring contracts for a star last season in Rudy Gay.

Yahoo Sports has the scoop: "The Kings are willing to give up their eighth overall pick in this year's NBA draft and a combination of players for Love, even though he would not be expected to sign a contract extension before next season - if ever, with the rebuilding, small-market franchise, the source said. Sacramento envisions Love and DeMarcus Cousins playing alongside each other in the front court. Swingman Rudy Gay has a player's option for next season.

The Kings know they'd have to gamble on convincing Love to re-sign, given that the franchise is rebuilding and Love is looking to play for a contender after never reaching the playoffs with the Timberwolves. Love's suitors also figure to include a number of bigger markets, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets and New York Knicks."

Considering what other teams are offering, the Wolves might not take a second look at the offer if it's Rudy Gay. Early last season, Gay shot himself out of the Toronto Raptors favor, averaging a career low in field goal percentage. The Raptors were publicly looking for a trade partner for Gay, and the only taker was the Kings.

The Wolves would prefer to take DeMarcus Cousins, the young, talented but volatile center of Sacramento. However, he recently signed a four-year $62 million extension to become the face of the franchise. It might be too high a price to pay even for Kevin Love.
