MacBook Air Retina Display Specs Include 'New Hardware', Gets 'On-Cell' Technology, Thinner Frame, 12" Screen

Thousands of Apple fans have been waiting for the MacBook Air Retina Display with superior specs compared to most ultrabooks today. Last year, we were disappointed that no Retina screen graced the super-thin Apple laptop so we have to wait for another year.

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference is already a few weeks away and if we stick to Apple's schedule for the past years, we may see the next generation MacBook Air, packed with a Retina display.

According to reports by reputable leaker 9to5mac, Apple will be launching its iOS 8 platform during the week-long event. In addition there would also be 'new hardware' that would make its debut.

While Apple has kept its mouth shut regarding this 'new hardware', a prediction from KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo several months back point to a new MacBook Air. And when we say 'new' it would certainly be a new version of the ultra-thin laptop.

In previous notes to investors by Kuo, the new Apple MacBook Air would get a 12-inch display. But in case this rumor pans out to be true, this 12-inch version would most likely replace the 11.6 inchers in the MacBook Air lineup.

Another scenario is that Apple would squeeze this 12-inch model between the 11.6 and 13 inchers which have been in the market for many years already.

Other reports also claim that the new Apple MacBook Air would finally get a Retina display. As far as screen specs are concerned, the laptop's display would reportedly be touch-enabled, the first in Apple's MacBook lineup.

Aside from iOS 8 and the MacBook Air, other devices which could make an appearance during at WWDC 2014 include the iWatch and the Apple TV.

Of course, you better take all these rumors with more than a grain of salt, but in a matter of days, we will finally see what Apple has in store.
