Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: More Affordable Version Of One M8 Shows Up In Promo Images, Specs Include 5" Display, Snapdragon 801, 13MP 'Regular' Camera

In spite the announcement of the One M8 flagship, there are still a number of upcoming HTC phones this 2014 from the Taiwanese manufacturer.

The One mini 2 has already been launched and is now available in selected markets in Europe, while the One M8 Prime is allegedly in the works. Once the latter becomes official, it will certainly vye for the top spot in the Android food chain. It will be up against the newly-announced LG G3 and the rumored Galaxy S5 Prime from Samsung.

Just like Samsung, HTC has been trying to release several devices in a lower price range, but still bearing the label of its flagship. It has done the same thing with the first One mini and the One max last year, and it will do it again.

Dubbed as the HTC One M8 Ace, the rumored smartphone from the Taiwanese manufacturer is expected to arrive at a much cheaper cost due to its plastic-clad frame, as opposed to the metal back of the One M8 flagship.

And that release date may arrive sooner rather than later as promo images of the device appeared in China.

From the images above, it is clear that red is the primary color option of the HTC One M8 Ace. From afar, it certainly looks like a gorgeous red version of the HTC One M8. However, some fans may get disappointed because of its polycarbonate plastic cover.

The design and build are still exceptional as they are where HTC excels the most, and with an attractive price tag of about $480, it would be a great buy for both Android and HTC fans.

On the inside, the One M8 Ace is just like the flagship, it packs a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a quad-core CPU that runs at a higher 2.5GHz, Snapdragon 801 chipset, and 16GB of built in memory with a microSD card slot.

However, the M8 Ace veers away from the original with its 13MP 'regular' camera at the back, and a 5MP front cam. Also on board are two HTC BoomSound speakers for superior audio quality.
