2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: OKC Thunder To Trade Westbrook? Superstar Guard Wants To Be Main Option! Was That The Last Chance For The KD-Russ Tandem?

The  2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions is running its course with the usual speculation. However, there could be a shocker on the way and it can come from the most unlikely place-Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma City Thunder went through a roller coaster of a playoff run. They had to undergo four overtimes, impossible four point plays and a punch in Steven Adams' face to get past grind city.

After that, they had the controversial Game 5 against the LA Clippers, with a series of questionable calls even Doc Rivers was too confused to protest. After those two series, the league's 'good boys' became the 'favored boys' and became the most hated team this side of Miami.

Kevin Durant, once hailed as the humble player who broke LeBron James' chokehold on the MVP award, Durant was called 'Mr. Unreliable' by the local paper and Westbrook yelling at him to "Wake Up" during one game. He also had a crucial turnover in overtime in what turned out to be their last game of the season.

But despite all that, this is Durant's team. Sometimes, Westbrook is more intense, and even more productive-but make no mistake, this is Durant's team.

And it could be a better team if they traded Westbrook. Not to say Westbrook is bad, but there are many holes they need to plug.

Bill Simmons suggested that this year may actually be their last shot: "Durant and Westbrook might be imperfectly perfect for each other. You saw why last night, when a typically fearless Westbrook saved OKC from Durant's abominable shooting night - his own version of LeBron's perplexing Game 5 against Boston in 2010, a stink bomb that could have haunted him forever. Would LeBron have ever dumped Cleveland if he had Westbrook there? And why would Durant leave OKC when he has Westbrook there?

Can they extend their window for 10 years, or 12, or maybe even 15? Or will some Thunder employee be wondering: What if that was it? What if that was our shot?"

It was said that Durant and Westbrook feed off each other. They have a relationship that rivals LeBron and Dwyane Wade with only one differences-the other pair wins championships.

OKC could become the next Utah Jazz-having two of the best players yet not winning a title-or they can break it up now. Westbrook is a valuable commodity-they can get all the pieces they need from a team that wants him. The Thunder, despite its success, is incredibly frugal-relying on rookie scale contracts to remain under the tax-The no. 1 overall pick and Kyrie Irving for Russell Westbrook?
