Chris Brown Released From Prison After Receiving Additional Time In May For Violating Probation

Chris Brown was released from prison. Rihanna's ex-boyfriend is officially out of jail 

According to multiple reports, singer Chris Brown was sprung from a California jail at midnight on June 2. Brown served 108 days of a 131-day sentence. It is assumed that Chris will be allowed to remain free until he stands trial for an assault charge later in the month.

Brown took to Twitter to tell his followers "Humbled and Blessed. Back to the Music and the Fans... Thank you GOD."

The Associated Press reported that Los Angeles Sheriff's deputy Tony Moore confirmed that Brown was released from prison at 12:01 a.m. on Monday morning. No further details were given on what will happen in Brown's legal future.

On May 9, a decision by Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin sentenced Brown to serve a year in county jail. The Judge gave credit for 234 days, nearly eight months, including time that Brown spent in rehab and another 59 days behind bars. The judge also credited Brown's good behavior while inside.

Chris was originally sentenced to 365 days in custody on May 9. The singer admitted violating his probation stemming from an Oct. 2013 altercation in Washington D.C.

Judge James Brandlin gave him credit for the 234 days he has already spent in rehab and jail. He finally left prison on Sunday after serving 108 days of a 131-day sentence for probation violation, TMZ reports.

Brown was thrown back behind bars because a judge ruled that Brown had violated his probation in the Rihanna case. He could have been sentenced to as much as four years.

Chris still faces an assault charge for the fight in Washington DC last year. The trial is tentatively set for later in June. If Brown is found guilty, he could potentially face jail time as punishment. Brown also could see more jail time on top of that if it is found to be yet another parole violation by a California judge.
