Both teams won their only other Interleague series in April, with the Marlins sweeping the Mariners and the Rays taking two of three from the Reds.

"I haven't really paid a whole lot of attention yet to that series," Miami manager Mike Redmond said. "They have a lot of great players, a lot of weapons that they'll use. We've got [Randy] Wolf going ... and we're trying to piece our pitching staff together as well, so it should be an interesting series."

Alex Cobb (1-2, 2.93 ERA) had a rocky start in his last outing as well, allowing six earned runs in five innings against the Blue Jays, who ended his streak of 24 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings pitched -- a record for a Rays starter. Cobb, who recently returned from the disabled list, is getting an extra day of rest before this start, according to MLB.com.

"I don't think it has anything to do with not taking chances, I think it's just being smart," Cobb said. "We looked at the schedule and this opportunity wouldn't come up for a while to get an extra day's rest. Going from zero to 100, going from the DL back to a big league atmosphere. ... It starts to put a little bit of a strain on your arm. It gets a little bit taxing."

Randy Wolf will be on the mound for his second start with the Marlins. The veteran is trying to bounce back from allowing six runs (four earned) in his last game pitched.
