Upcoming Windows Phones 2014 XOLO Joins The WP Bandwagon With Super Light Midranger, Costs Only $199

XOLO may not be among the first manufacturers to come in mind when we're talking about upcoming Windows Phones for 2014, but the Indian manufacturer will soon changed that as it officially dips into WP 8.1 territory.

According to a report by GSM Arena, XOLO has recently unveiled the Win Q900s, a midrange smartphone that runs Windows Phone 8.1.

There is nothing remarkable about the Win Q900s except that the company claims it to be the world's lightest Windows Phone at 100g. Well, XOLO was not probably paying attention when All View's Imperia I made its debut a couple of days ago. In comparison the handset weighs slightly lighter at 98.9.

In case you are looking for a decent smartphone that runs the latest Windows Phone 8.1 update, then the XOLO Q900s could be a great option.

The Indian-made handset packs a 4.7-inch IPS display with an impressive HD (1280 x 720) resolution, Snapdragon 200 chipset, a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, a decent 1GB RAM and an 8GB internal memory.

Also on board is an 8MP camera with LED flash, a 2MP front cam, dual-SIM support and a mciroSD card slot for memory expansion.

Unfortunately, the device only runs on a 1,800mAh battery so do not expect the phone to last a full day on moderate to heavy usage.

Coming with Windows Phone 8.1, the XOLO Q900s brings the new features of the mobile platform such as the customizable homescreens, notification center, better virtual keypad, and the virtual voice assistant Cortana.

In the report, the XOLO handset has gone on sale through local retailer Snapsale where it was listed at INR9,999 or about $166. Its 5000 stocks were immediately sold out.

Now, the device is officially up for grabs at a slightly higher price tag of INR 11,999 or about $199.
