Laurie Holden, Walking Dead Star, Joins TNT's `Major Crimes'; Rumors That Laurie Holden Is Walking Dead Straight Into New Series Infect The Internet

The Walking Dead's Laurie Holden was cast in a potential spin-off to TNT's "Major Crimes."

Laurie Holden from The Walking Dead will lock and load again. But this time she will be leading a bunch of SOBs. In what is being speculated as a possible Major Crimes spinoff, Holden will fight crime instead of walkers. She will take on the living, not the undead. And the only Walking Dead will be the people she puts on death row. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

Creator James Duff claims that the episode is not a pilot for a spin-off. But no one believes him. Major Crimes a spin-off to The Closer. Although, Holden was only given a guest spot, rumors says she will stumble around for a while.

Laurie Holden is set to guest star in the seventh episode of Major Crimes third season.

Laurie will will play Ann McGinnis, the second in command at the Los Angeles Police Department's Special Operations Bureau. McGinnis is shooting her way up the ranks so fast the other cops nicknamed her Annie Oakley. But that's also in part because because is an impatient cop who the superiors think my be too quick to use force.

Many are speculating that her characters appearance may mark the intro into a spin-off of Major Crimes.

Series creator James Duff previously told TVLine "It is not a pilot. It is a Major Crimes episode. We're just doing a super-sized nine-day shooting schedule episode of Major Crimes, and it's going to be a lot of fun."

The possible spinoff episode will also see Jon Tenney return to the fray as FBI Agent Fritz Howard.

Duff told TV Line "The Special Operations Bureau is interesting on its own. It has the largest municipal Air Force in the world. It's in charge of all the tactical elements of the LAPD, including the dive team, the bomb team, SWAT, criminal intelligence and, in our version, SIS, which is Special Investigation Section, the undercover work. We were talking about doing a great big episode of 'Major Crimes' around Episode 7, because that's when our audience begins to rise."

Laurie Holden has also appeared on The Shield and The X-Files.
