Xiaomi RedMi Note Sells 10K Units In Just 1 Second, Boasts 5.5" Display, 13MP Camera, Octa-Core CPU

The Chinese manufacturer has been doing very well in the sales department, and struggling brands like HTC and Blackberry should certainly learn from Xiaomi as its RedMi Note sells 10k units.

So what's news about that? Xiaomi does that all the time. Well, the company managed to sell out its RedMi Note handsets in just a second.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the RedMi phablet sold out in its launch in Taiwan after a second, and that's not even counting the 40,000 reservations of the handset just 12 hours after it was open for pre-orders.

Xiaomi has been very consistent in selling its smartphones, and it does not always mean that these devices should have the best specs or the most 'gimmicky' features.

The Chinese brand always brings a deadly combination whenever it releases a smartphone - above midrange specs and a dirt cheap price tag.

As for the Xiaomi RedMi Note, it packs a 5.5-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, an octa-core CPU, 1GB or 2GB of RAM depending on the option, a 13MP primary camera, a 5MP front cam, an 8GB of internal memory and a whopping 3,200mAh battery for extended battery use.

You just can't help but wonder how Xiaomi makes a profit out of this phone if it sells for only around $164.

But then again, if we think about it, it is a matter of mixing the right factors well enough. Most of Xiaomi's smartphones have a decent look and cool design which some people say the company took from Apple's iPhones. There is certainly a resemblance, and that alone makes the phone an interesting device to get if you cannot afford an iPhone, and let's face it most people can't.

The price is also a given for Xiaomi, and most people would trade a lower end smartphone for a cheaper price tag than getting a higher model with a price that could break the bank.
