Kyrie Irving, Cleveland Cavaliers Agree To 5 Year Maximum Extension! New Coach, Improved Roster Convinced Him To Stay! Will LeBron Consider Them Now?

Shut down the predictions and rumors for Kyrie Irving. He is staying in Cleveland for the long haul! The first overall pick really proves useful, doesn't it?

Right on the very first minute of the Free agency period, the Cavs executives wasted no time to get on a flight to New Jersey and pitch the offer to the All-Star MVP point guard.

Their promptness paid off, and now they have secured an agreement with "Uncle Drew" to be the face of the franchise for the next 6 years-he still has one year under contract before the five year extension kicks in.

Yahoo Sports reported it:

"Kyrie Irving agreed to a five-year, $90 million contract extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers that secures the star point guard as a cornerstone of the franchise.

Irving made the commitment early Tuesday during a meeting in New York with team officials, including new coach David Blatt. Blatt and associate head coach Tyronn Lue outlined their offensive vision for the team during the meeting."

Kyrie has already shared positive feedback towards Blatt, but not a few were skeptical on whether he would actually sign on it. Now we know.

The report continues: "Blatt and Lue 'were incredibly impressive' Irving's agent, Jeff Wechsler told Yahoo Sports. 'That's what helped sell Kyrie on taking this deal.'"

We've always thought that $ 90 million dollars would sell itself.

As a parting shot, Wechsler told Yahoo Sports: "Kyrie is looking forward to growing with the organization and city of Cleveland over the next six years."

Now for the intriguing part of the report: Will this development convince LeBron James to consider Cleveland? It was just reported today that the King will demand no less than a King's ransom-the max contract. Cleveland can still get creative because the Kyrie will still be on the last year of his rookie contract. Next year, they will be capped.

The Cavs' confidence has greatly increased, no doubt, and LeBron would be, at the very least, intrigued. So are we.Some confirmation tweets from the guy getting paid and the happy giver:
