2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Houston Rockets Grand Pitch To Carmelo Anthony Revealed! Texas Team Has Multiple Options If Melo Says No; Who Are They?

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions get crazy as the official Free Agency period starts! One of the most active teams this summer will make a grand pitch just like what they gave Dwight Howard a year ago.

Ultimate Rockets has the inside track on what the Rockets have planned on Wednesday, the date that Carmelo set to meet them in Houston:

"The thrust of the presentation will be about the Rockets' contention that Anthony, a 6-8 forward, would be joining a contender. According to an individual familiar with the plans, they would cite their roster, expected to include every starter off a 54-win team."

So where does Melo fit in all this?

The Rockets have that down pat as well:

"They will describe how Anthony, 30, would be used. They will use many of the same representatives - owner Leslie Alexander, CEO Tad Brown, general manager Daryl Morey, coach Kevin McHale, former player Clyde Drexler, trainer Keith Jones and James Harden - as those who landed Howard. Howard will also be a part of the presentation, replacing free agent Chandler Parsons on the welcoming committee."

For someone as geeky as GM Daryl Morey, of course he has a Plan B if Melo says "No."It actually reached all the way to half of the alphabet to be exact.

"If the Rockets cannot land one of the top free agents, they would likely look to get help at the wing positions. Either way, they could bring back Francisco Garcia, who as expected opted out of his contract. The Rockets would also have interest in Luol Deng or former Rockets forward Trevor Ariza, a person with knowledge of the Rockets' plans said, though Deng is expected to receive contract offers greater than the Rockets would probably make and Ariza is likely to return to Washington. The Rockets also have interest in Thunder small forward Thabo Sefolosha."

It's unlikely that the Rockets will come out of this summer empty-handed. The question is how big a fish they will catch.
