Pokemon X And Y Anime And Origins Now Available On iTunes Alongside, TV App, Pokedex For iOS: What Is Winkshipping?

iTunes has embraced the Pokemon franchise in a new way with the release of the X and Y anime in the Apple application.

"This morning, The Pokémon Company International announced that iTunes is providing fans a one-stop destination, iTunes.com/Pokemon, for official Pokémon content," says the official press release.

"Animated episodes and specials, official Pokémon applications like the Pokémon TV app and Pokédex for iOS, and Pokémon video game music soundtracks from classic titles to the latest generation, Pokémon X and Pokémon Y are all available for download now."

Reportedly, the latest episodes from the Pokemon X and Y anime as well as the four-part "Pokemon: Origins" are now available across Apples iOS devices. Reportedly, "Pokemon: Origins" comes in four parts at £2.49 or $2.99 per episode in HD, or £1.89 or $1.99 in SD.

Given that the Blu-Ray or DVD has not been released outside of Japan and Australia, this is the only way to own your copy of this very well-received Pokemon anime special.

Meanwhile, you can also catch the Pokemon X and Y anime on Cartoon Networks on Saturdays.

Meanwhile, some Pokemon fans at PokeJungle has discovered a particularly bizarre term called "winkshipping."

This term, according to Bulbapedia, means the belief that Ash and his Gliscor belong in a romantic relationship, derived from Gliscor's habit of winking and sticking its tongue from its mouth.

As expected, the general reaction to winkshipping is as follows.
