iPad Air 2 Release Date Set On September 9? Apple Does Not Want Consumers To Avail Summer Education Promo For New Devices?

After the WWDC event by Apple last month, there were some fans and consumers who were a bit disappointed that the Cupertino manufacturer never mentioned anything about the iPad Air 2 release date, neither any details about the new iPhone 6.

However, in a new report, it appears that Apple may have accidentally hinted the release of its devices, particularly the iPad Air 2.

According to a report by StableyTimes, the Cupertino manufacturer has already launched its annual Summer Education Promo that will allow consumers to purchase Apple products and devices and receive and Apple Store discount card.

The discount card is a free $50 gift card that will allow buyers to get a new Apple device cheaper than its retail price.

But it looks like the promo will only be for consumers who plan to buy current Apple devices, as the promo began a couple of days ago and would end on September 9, interestingly more than a week before the company will allegedly unveil the iPhone 6.

As for the iPads including the iPad Air 2 and the Retina iPad mini 2, they would most likely be announced a few weeks after the iPhone 6, so that Apple fans can really focus on what device they are going to buy.

But what's so special about the upcoming iPad Air 2?

According to rumors, the device will pack mostly the same design as last year's model. We already know that once a particular device's design appeals to its target market, Apple will stick to it until it becomes outdated. That's what happened with the original iPads (1st to 4th gen).

However, one notable change would be the tablet's home button where the Touch ID fingerprint sensor would be placed.

Other rumored specs include a faster A8 chipset, and the recently previewed iOS 8.
