Apple Vs. Samsung: New Report Says iPhone Users Are Switching To The Galaxy S5, iPhone 5s And 5c Still Best-Selling Phones In The US

The Apple Vs. Samsung rivalry is definitely one of the most popular match-ups in the tech world today, and their battle does not just stay in the smartphone or tablet realm.

For the past four years, the two tech giants have been battling it out in several courts in several countries, all of which due to alleged patent infringements.

Ironically, Apple and Samsung have some partnerships in manufacturing products. For instance, the iPhone 5s' 64-bit A7 chipsets were manufactured by Samsung, and for the upcoming iPhone 6, the Korean manufacturer is also reported to be tapped for the job.

And now that everyone is waiting for the reportedly bigger iPhone 6, a new report says that there are iPhone users which have switched to Android, specifically to the Samsung Galaxy S5.

According to the report by GSM Arena, 26% of all Galaxy S5 owners in Great Britain came from Apple. That is a significant increase compared to the 12% adoption rate of the Galaxy S4 among iPhone users last year.

Meanwhile, the entire European market does not share the same growth of the Galaxy S5 in terms of getting market share from current and past iPhone users. In the report, only 17% of Samsung Galaxy S5 owners have come from Apple's iPhone.

However, in the United States, Apple continues to dominate Samsung, where there are only 8% of iPhone users who switched to the Galaxy S5.

In total, 11.1 percent of all smartphones in the US are iPhone 5cs, while 11 percent of the entire market share is composed of the iPhone 5s flagship. Currently. the Samsung Galaxy S5 sits on third place with 9% of the market.

The Korean tech giant's previous flagship, the Galaxy S4, shares the fourt spot with the Motorola Moto G with 6%.

These numbers will surely change once the bigger iPhone 6 has been unveiled.
