Katie Holmes Admits Upsetting Leah Remini Ahead of '20/20' Interview? Statement Released!

Katie Holmes kept mum about her connection to the Church of Scientology and Tom Cruise amid Leah Remini's tell-all to ABC's "20/20." The "All We Had" actress though apologized to the "The King of Queens" in a statement.

As reported by People magazine, the "All We Had" actress declined an interview invite from ABC's "20/20" and chose instead to let her representatives send a written statement on the matter.

"I regret having upset Leah in the past, and wish her only the best in the future," the "All We Had" actress said via her publicist.

It was not clear though if the statement meant an admission of a certain incident or the Katie Holmes was simply speaking in general of unintentional incidents that may have happened when she interacted with Leah Remini prior to the airing of ABC's "20/20" interview.

"Katie is not making an appearance on the special, nor is she discussing Scientology, or her former marriage," her publicist further clarified. "For any outlet to suggest otherwise is misleading."

Though Holmes was not the major topic in the exclusive interview, she was mentioned several times because of her former relationship with Tom Cruise. As mentioned by ABC News, Leah Remini said she was told off by several Church of Scientology officials because of some of her interaction with the former couple.

"He was like forcibly kissing Katie and I said, 'hey, get a fricking room,'" "The King of Queens" actress described of one instance years ago as cited by Gawker. "And well, I was written up for that, and I had to go into session for it."

Apart from that, "The King of Queens" actress also said that she attended Tom Cruise's wedding with Holmes in 2006 but she was asked to bring Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez with her. The Church of Scientology denied her claims about the wedding though. Cruise has yet to address Remini's current claims.
