Gwen Stefani reportedly was not leaving "The Voice" without a fight amid news of Christina Aguilera's return. The No Doubt singer and Blake Shelton reportedly were also unaffected by rumored attempts to stop the budding romance between them.
According to an item on OK! magazine, the "Dirrty" singer has apparently labelled the No Doubt singer as a mere "substitute" on "The Voice" and Stefani was out to prove her wrong.
"She knows Christina turns her nose up at her and she's been told about the 'substitute' jibe - and she has a few tricks up her sleeve herself," an insider told the source above. "She plans on going out as THE only coach everyone wants back - the most memorable coach and 'face' of the show."
The No Doubt singer has purportedly even kept her schedule open to accommodate another "The Voice" stint if a chance suddenly opened up.
"She would love nothing better than to take on Christina face-to-face on that show - and so would a lot of viewers too," the insider added.
Gwen Stefani and Christina Aguilera have yet to personally deny the currents news and rumors about their alleged feud. In an interview with the Associated Press though, Stefani did express that she was "not done" with the talent search show and already missed her family there that included judges Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams and Blake Shelton.
It has been rumored last month that the "Dirrty" singer's return was meant to stop the "Spark The Fire" singer and the country singer from getting closer. Despite the alleged attempt, the plan seemingly was not working out.
As reported by E! Online, Stefani and Shelton spent the Halloween weekend together and reportedly looked "more than just friends" during several sightings. Although the pictures were grainy, it was mentioned in the report that the fellow judges purportedly held each other close as they partied. But in a report on People magazine, a source said the pair just spent time with other friends and they were completely platonic.
"We're just trying to have fun, you know?" Stefani explained to Carson Daily on Monday as cited by People magazine.
While rumors about Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have yet to be confirmed, news of Christina Aguilera's return on "The Voice" season 10 was for sure.
